Is it a bug? BTW, my actual download speeds didn’t seem to be suffering from the slows – but if I’m honest, I didn’t benchmark before and after the driver update. Recently found this thread while searching for answers as well, after uninstalling the drivers I had originally I installed what seems to be a newer version of the driver here, I checked RTLCE-VA4. I installed the Technical Preview on a self build system of mine which uses a Realtek RTLCE Wireless LAN chip by means of an expansion card, and was able to get online even during setup using the included drivers with what is reportedly full signal strength however it felt quite slow and this was confirmed by a speed test.

I then loaded up the Windows realtek rtl8192ce-va4 WLAN driver for that chipset and while the connection appears to hover between only bars, the connection is much faster once I reboot as shown: The problem is after a short while it drops down to that slower speed again, and I have realtek rtl8192ce-va4 interrupt what I’m doing, install the new WLAN driver again, and restart the PC.

An update to say that moving from DHCP-loaded DNS to alternate fixed entries has, so far realtek rtl8192ce-va4 least, got realtek rtl8192ce-va4 internet connection working properly rtl81922ce-va4. I’ll try some alternative DNS server settings to see if that has the desired result.

In realtek rtl8192ce-va4 I felt confident enough to allow the update to again and no issues there except for a mystery drive showing up in my realtek rtl8192ce-va4 – possibly a restore partition created for rollback?

However in the time it took to navigate to the forums and write this out, it dropped back down again: Well, installing the driver from the Realtek site solved the problem for now I have similar issues to kanga in that the internet connection takes progressively longer realtek rtl8192ce-va4 load pages and often gets the “page taking too long” error. Realtek rtl8192ce-va4 is compounded by an accompanying loss of responsiveness when clicking links, browser back button and so on. After reading through some realtek rtl8192ce-va4 threads I noticed that the performance had dropped again so I decided to install the driver in Windows 8 mode, reboot and see what happens. realtek rtl8192ce-va4

I wonder if this is something related to my problems – that the browsers, especially IE work fine when realtek rtl8192ce-va4 machine is freshly booted but take longer and longer to get web pages or give up as time goes on.
